Biography Intro: Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi was born in 1963. He is an indigene of Oyo State. He
is a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo South senatorial District.

EDUCATION: He attended the following institutions, Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan Oyo State where he obtained his West Africa School Certificate in 1979. He proceeded to West London Business School, Acton Town W3, where he obtained a Certificate in business administration in 1982. In 1983, he attended the Centre for Marketing Management Studies and got a Diploma in Business Administration. He went further to Kingston University, kingston Upon-Tyme Kings and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies in 1984.

CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: It is also interesting to note that he was a Member of Afenifere Renewal Group from 2007 to 2015, Special Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State from 1999 to 2003, Member House of Representatives from 1992 to 1993.

In the 2015 elections, he contested for a seat in the Oyo South Senatorial District under the Platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and Won.
