He obtained his LL.B (Hons.) degree from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, in 1988. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989 and has since been in active practice.

He has handled several high profile cases including election petitions up to the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has helped to place several companies on proper legal footing as company secretary and legal adviser.

He has also handled and negotiated commercial contracts worth hundreds of millions of Naira. He later bagged a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) with specialty in Comparative Company Law and Secured Credit Transactions from the University of Lagos in 2002.

He is a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is a member of the Governing Council Office of the Public Defender Anambra State. He is also a member of the Governing Council Citizen Rights Directorate Anambra State.
