For his working experience, Michael Irom Etaba attained the position of manager in various fields of business, petroleum industry, education, Niger-Delta and other related areas.

In the year 2015, Michael was elected into the Federal House of Representatives, to represent the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency of Cross River State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. His Legislative Interests include management of the oil & gas, education, Niger-Delta, finance, etc. He targets to promote good government in the business of legislation.
