Mr. Jonathan B. Majiyagbe, S.A.N, OFR – Principal Partner

Jonathan obtained his law degree from the University of London. He is a member of the Bar of England and Wales (Honourable Society of the Middle Temple) and a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

He has been elevated to silk and conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

He is a former member of the Body of Benchers (the body responsible for the screening and admission of lawyers to the Nigerian Bar); Past Vice-President of the Nigerian Bar Association; member of the International Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a former member of the Interim Judicial Service Committee, Kano State and the Editorial board of the Journal of Nigeria Law.

In 2003, Jonathan made history by becoming the first African to be appointed the Worldwide President of Rotary International, a one-hundred years old humanitarian service organization with over 1.2 million members and in 2008 made history again by being appointed the Chairman of its Board of Trustees.

He is a former Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of Kano, the Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Kano Branch, a Notary Public and Coroner for Kano State.

In 2008, Jonathan was awarded national honours – Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Jonathan is a very experienced and highly regarded lawyer.
