EDUCATION: He attended Presbyterian Primary School and Community Secondary School both in Biakpan. In 1988, he was admitted to the Faculty of Law, University Of Calabar. He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Laws, (LL.B) Hon. Degree. In 1993 he was called to the Nigerian Bar after graduating from the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In 1994, Mr. Ukweni was retained in the Chambers OF Johny C. Okonkwo (SAN), Legal Practitioners, where he did his primary assignment during his National Youth Service Corp days. He joined the law firm of Kanu G. Agabi & Associates in 1998.

CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: On the 15th day of March, 2005, He relocated from the firm of Kanu G. Agabi & Associates to set up Mba E. Ukweni & Associates where he has since been the principal partner.
As a private Legal Practitioner, Mr. Ukweni has handled cases in all the superior courts of record in the country. He has done cases at various tribunals set up at various times in the country such as; The Failed Banks Tribunal, Miscellaneous Offences Tribunal, Special Appeals Tribunal and the various Election Petition Tribunals.
Mr. Ukweni was conscripted into politics by the politicians, most of whom are his clients. He served as the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Biase Local Government Area Chapter, a position he held until October, 2001. In the year 2002, he was elected the National Deputy Legal Adviser of the National Democratic Party (PDP).

AWARDS AND HONOURS: On Monday, the 19th day of September, 2016, Mr. Ukweni was conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN by His Lordship, The Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Mahmud Mohammed at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Abuja. He is a recipient of many other awards.

CHILDREN: Their marriage is blessed with four (4) children, two (2) girls and two (2) boys.
