Biography Intro:  DANIEL HENRY OFONGO born July 19, 1969, is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency of Bayelsa Sate under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

EDUCATION: He attended State Primary School I Ibadan Street, Port Harcourt, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He moved to Community Secondary School Igbomotoru Town, Southern Ijaw Bayelsa in 1983 and passed out in 1988, obtaining Senior School Certificate. He then attended College Of Education Port Harcourt in 1990 and graduated in 1994.

CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: Daniel Henry Ofongo was the Councillor of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. He became the Administrative Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bayelsa State in the year 2001 and held the office until 2002. In 2002, he became the Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, a position he held until the year 2003. He became the Youth Leader of Bayelsa state in 2003 and quit in 2005. In 2007, he became the Special Representative of Bayelsa state, an office he ended in 2010.

In the year 2011, Daniel Henry Ofongo was elected into the Federal House of Representatives, to represent Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency of Bayelsa Sate under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was re-elected in 2015.
