While the official name of Macedonia in the United Nations is the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, more than 135 countries have recognized it as the Republic of Macedonia, and that’s the correct name.

The reason why U.N still uses F.Y.R.O.M is because of an old dispute between Greece and Macedonia.

5. OHRID LAKE IS ONE OF THE OLDEST LAKES

Not only the oldest but also one of the deepest with a max depth of 288 meters. The age of Ohrid Lake is estimated to be around 4 million years old.
