History Of The Nigerian Navy

Set up in 1914, the Nigerian Navy started from the Nigerian Marine. The obligations of the Nigerian Marine were as per the following:

organization of the ports and harbors;

digging of channels,

buoyage and lighting

working ship administrations, visiting dispatches, and other little specialty that employed the different rivulets and other inland conduits

In the time of the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorate, a critical association in the nation around then, the Nigerian Marine was likewise part into a few offices, one of which was the Nigerian Navy. Alternate offices which were the result of this split were the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Inland Waterways Department.
