How Much Do APC & PDP Nomination Forms Actually Cost?

As Nigeria moves closer to the 2019 general elections, the two major political parties, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have announced the costs of their nomination forms for all the elective positions.

Since the two major parties announced the commencement of the sale of their forms, there have been speculations about the costs of the nomination and Expression of Interest forms.

Below is a breakdown of the cost of the PDP nomination forms:

Presidential nomination form – N10 million
Expression of Interest form – N2 million
Total – N12 million

Governorship
Nomination form – N5 million
Expression of Interest – N1 million
Total – N6 million

Senate
Nomination form – N3.5 million
Expression of Interest – N500,000
Total – N4 million

House of Representatives
Nomination form – N1 million
Expression of Interest – N500,000
Total – N1.5 million

House of Assembly
Nomination form – N500,000
Expression of Interest – N100,000
Total – N600,000

The opposition party in a statement published by Premium Times, said all female aspirants are exempted from payment for the purchase of nomination forms for all offices except national and ad-hoc delegate categories.
