Kebbi State is a primarily rural state created out of the old Sokoto State on 27 August 1991, by the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. The previous Sokoto State being one of the biggest states regarding land territory, was just too expansive for simple organization and important improvement and this required the new state to be made.
