Kano state is situated in north-western nigeria and made on may 27, 1967 from the old northern region. It is circumscribed toward the north-west by katsina state and toward the north-east by jigawa state, at that point toward the south-east by bauchi state and the south-west by kaduna state. Jigawa state was cut out of kano state in 1991.
