A. You will be able to pay back any outstanding amount by recharging via physical recharge, DYA, On Demand, airtime from a friend through Share N Sell or received airtime through any other means.

A. Yes, you will be able to view your transaction history by dialling *606# and then select transaction history.
Q. Will the airtime I borrowed be loaded into my main account after successful requests?
A. No, the airtime borrowed will be credited into a special XtraTime dedicated account. To check the airtime in this account, dial *606#.
Q. Is there a service fee for using MTN XtraTime?
A. Yes, you will be charged a service fee of 15% on all successful request. The service charge is deducted alongside the airtime amount requested.
For example, if a customer requests for N100, once the request is approved, N100 will be deducted from the customer’s main account which is (N85) airtime borrowed and (N15) service fee.
Q. Will the airtime borrowed have an expiry date/validity?
A. No, the airtime does not have an expiry date/validity period.
Q. How can I check the airtime balance in my XtraTime account?
A. You can check the airtime balance in your XtraTime account, by dialling the USSD code *606#, then selecting check balance.
Q. Will I be able to transfer airtime from my XtraTime account to another customer’s account?
A. No, you will NOT be able to transfer airtime from your XtraTime account to another customer’s account.
Q. Will I be able to call after I exhaust the airtime?
A. No, your call will be suspended once you exhaust the airtime. However, you will able to borrow another airtime as long as you are within your credit limit to continue enjoying your call.
Q. What happens when the amount recharged is not enough to pay back the airtime amount borrowed completely?
A. When the recharge amount is less than the outstanding airtime amount, subsequent recharges will be used to recover whatever is outstanding until the loan is fully recovered.
Q. What happens when the amount recharged by a customer is more than the airtime amount borrowed?
A. When the recharge amount is greater than the outstanding airtime amount, the airtime amount will be deducted first and the balance credited into the customer’s main account.
Q. Can I pay back the XtraTime airtime borrowed via Share ’n’ Sell?
A. Yes. Any airtime that is transferred into the customer’s account via Share ’n’ Sell can be used to pay off any outstanding XtraTime loan.
Q. Can a customer pay back XtraTime using credit/bonus in any other dedicated account?
A. No, a customer cannot use any credit/bonus/freebie in any of her/his dedicated account(s) to offset the MTN XtraTime loan incurred.
Q. Will a customer need to pay back XtraTime owed even if such airtime has not yet been used?
A. Yes. The airtime amount borrowed will be deducted once the customer recharges, regardless of how much of airtime s/he has actually used.
Q. Can a customer owing XtraTime borrow additional airtime?
A. Yes, a customer can borrow multiple airtime even if the customer is yet to pay back the airtime borrowed as long as the customer is within her/his credit limit.
Q. Is there a limit on the number of times a customer can borrow airtime using XtraTime?
A. A customer can borrow airtime multiple times as long as the customer is within the credit limit.
Q. What services on MTNN can the credit be used for?
A. The credit can be used for all chargeable activities on the MTNN network, including but not limited to:
- Voice calls
- Prepaid Data Bundles
- Premium rated services
- MTN Backup
- MTN Caller Tunez
- MTN Play
- Other current and future VAS services
Q. At what rate will my calls, SMS, data and other services be charged from my Xtratime account?
A. The applicable rates for the services used will be based on your current tariff plan rate.
Q. Will I be able to transfer Xtratime credit to another customer using Share ’n’ Sell?
A. No, you will NOT be able to transfer credit from your Xtratime account using MTN Share ‘n Sell or any other means.
